I would be curious too, i'v heard alot more than 390. (they are underrated) Nice Trans Am as much as i hate to say that, hehe.
This is totally unrealted, but whats the differnce between a firebird and the trans am?
Well, depends on what trim level you are talking about, because they are all Firebirds. The trim levels are, Firebird, Formula, and Trans Am. There are more, such as the Blackbird, but I'll only talk about what GM made.
The Firebirds are the cheapest and only has the 3800 engine (v6). Had weaker 4 speed auto, or a 5 speed manual.
The Formula is the same as the Firebird, but has the Trans Am equipment. power windows for example were an option. It had the LS1, and choice of 4 speed auto or 6 speed manual. From 98-00 the Formula could have the WS6 package.
Trans Am had different ground effects, different facia, raised spoiler, larger wheels and brakes, ls1 and the A4 or M6 tranny. Many options came standard on T/As, like power windows, leather, t-top, ect. WS6 package could be ordered.
The WS6 package upgraded the rims and tires, raised speed limiter, and added the Ram Air hood and airbox. The suspension was also upgraded, along with the exhaust.
There's more, but that's the things I can think of off the top of my head.
