My new car stereo is messing up. It plays good, just no bass anywhere at all. Makes it not so nice. It looks like maybe the radio has been changed but put back to stock. Help me!!!!!

Take the radio out and see if any wires have been cut and spliced...

I have also heard that if someone installs an aftermarket head unit. The mach 460 stereo system is not compatible. So someone may have gone cutting wires to get an aftermarket head unit to work.

Yeah its got t.v. monitors in the visors and the receiver for them is missing,so spliced up wires is def a possibility, we will see tomorrow.

idk if the aftermarket unit is whats doing it or not but for me it was the 2 stock amps in the trunk that were junk

Two spliced wires

Black spliced into a black with green stripe. The black goes to ground for video monitors.

Red spliced into black with pink stripe. The red goes to the power supply for the monitors.

The monitors do turn on if that helps.


all other wires look untouched.

check the power source to your amplifiers there should be two of them located under a black cover thats in a self contained unit that houses your rear speakers.

Which ones should be hot.
I unhooked the spliced in wires for good measure.

Not sure on the wiring but you would be surprised just going to a junk yard what ya find. My local yard had 5 mustangs and 2 had 460s. Just grab the amps.

sidenote if you do this bring a torx set with an extension
