No,

Not all 1999-00 S351's came with the carbon fiber steering wheel accent. You could order it with that, just like the carbon fiber mirrors that Saleen offered in their catalog for a short time.

That huge picture of that vert with the steering wheel is a Cobra clone built from a GT and Matt bought that steering wheel. It did not come from an S351.

The guys over there that think they know about Saleen Mustangs are worse than the guys on another board I wont mention that think they know about Carroll Shelby.

My 99 351 car has the carbon fiber package and doesn't have a special steering wheel. Neither does the 96.

No problema.

Whatever you do, don't bring them over here. We would never get rid of them.

Speaking of steering wheels, one of the things I dislike about my '98 Saleen Cobra, in addition to the crappy OEM seats, is the OEM steering wheel. It's diameter & thickness I find to be very uncomfortable & ungainly, particularly in what is supposed to be a high-performance sport car. The steering wheel in my dearly departed '99 SVT Contour & even my wife's '00 Focus are much more comfortable with smaller diameters & thicker rims.

Of course the ideal wheel would be the MOMO Monte Carlo from my dearly, dearly departed '89 Saleen, but fitting an aftermarket wheel to an airbag equipped vehicle is too labor intensive to consider.

Is there an existing OEM or FRPP steering wheel available that I could swap for my current wheel?

Thanks for the link. I seem to remember that Ford Motorsport/SVO, ne FRPP, offered OEM style wheels. Unfortunately if the FR500 wheel is only available in black leather, it won't match my Saddle interior.

My 1998 s351 speedster does have a carbon fiber wheel similar to the one in the photo, but black in color...both the leather and the carbon fiber. I would take a pic but I just put the car in storage this weekend and is not available for me to take a pic. The window sticker says nothing about any carbon fiber parts. The shifter nob is carbon fiber as well.

I have spoken to the previous owners. I asked each of the about modifications and each claimed no changes?

My old company(Lumanar) made this kit. We actually proposed a real nice interior(think navigator quality panels) but they went with the cheap overlay that you have seen. The funny thing is everytime a saleen rep sees my good kit they flip and always wonder why Saleen went with the stick on.
We did the cf steering wheels in 1998 for Saleen, but that was it.

I don't know about the s351's but my XP8 came with CF inserts on the steering wheel. Look's very similar to the pic on SVTP.
