Does Anyone Have Any Good Info For Me On My A/c In My 84 Gt. I Had To Dump The R12 To Change The Heater Core And Now Want To Charge It Back Up. I Found A Kit In Autozone With The Fittings 3 Cans Of 134a W/ Oil In The Can And A Single Gauged Hose. I Am Going To Borrow A Vac. Pump From A Guy I Work With. Any Tips I May Need To Know When Doing This?

i used that kit your are talking about and it worked great. Just follow the cd's instructions, very easy to do.

You have to convert it over. R12 is almost impossible to find and when you find it, it'll cost SOOOOO much more money it woun't be worth doing. 134a is cheap and works just about as good.

The only tip you need is follow the instructions.

put some dye in the system so if you develop a leak down the road it is already in it and you wont have to wait for slow leaks to show

Check out Duracool refrigerant,(www.duracool.com) as an alternative to 134a.The company claims it cools better than 134a,and I believe you don`t have to change any of the "O" rings on the AC lines to use it.
