Hey guys Im havin a/c problems. The compressor wont come on so I jumped the low pressure switch on the condensor and it came on but still blew hot air. I tried to add refridgerant but the compressor wouldnt come on and it barely took any so I tried to jump the switch and add refridgerant and the compressor sounded funny so I stopped. It barely took anymore refridgerant and I dont think the a/c ever got colder. Any suggestions? Oh and I didnt see any leaks when I was trying to fill it

This sounds familiar to my recent trip to the dealership. I took my 98 Cobra in for a/c. The compressor would not turn on and the coolant charge ended up being good. What it was was a CCRM and a cycling switch. The Constant Control Relay Module must control the power on/off of the compressor. They were able to get it to work by jumping the relay. They replaced the relay ($165) and the a/c worked but the cycling switch which must control how much the compressor runs?? was faulty ($25). I really hate having to believe the dealership but my a/c now works like a charm. I am not a Ford tech but your problem sounds familiar to mine. Hope this helps and maybe you can get a couple other opinions!

Yes my prob does sound similar to yours. I tried to jump the cycling switch on top of the condenser and my compressor kicked on but the a/c would not cool down. I still believe a switch is the prob but dont know what else to do. I probably have a leak too but I was thinking switches because I believe the problem started when I flipped my a/c switch from normal to vent really quick 3 or 4 times the last time I drove it with the a/c working. I did that to drop the idle b/c I noticed that would keep it from hanging. Anyone have a suggestion on what else to try I dont want to bring the car to a mechanic yet.
