I have an a/c eliminator kit on my 88gt. Does anyone know where I can get the tensioner pulley that is ribbed for the ribbed side of the belt? What do I ask for at the part store? Currently I have the ribbed side of the belt running on the slick stock tensioner pulley.

Are you still using the original belt? cause if you put an eliminator pulley on for the a/c then the belt routing is still the same as it was before. If its not, just go out and find a belt that fits... you can buy one off 50resto I think for less 1 pulley and it should go on correctly.

I do not have the stock belt. I have no smog pump and underdrives and a/c eliminator. The eliminator I have moves the tensioner to where the a/c used to be so the ribbed side of the belt is riding on the tensioner. I need a ribbed tensioner pulley.

Just to clear things up this is the kit your useing right?

Go to any Autozone or Checker or whatever generic parts chain you have in your area and see if they'll let you pick through the boxes until you find one that suits your needs. I don't have the exact part number on me, but I'm pretty sure that the idler pulley on a '99-'04 V6 Mustang will be the right size outer diameter and bolt hole diameter to suit your needs, and it's ribbed. Take off your current pulley, walk in there, ask for that part for that application (don't tell them what you're really putting it on - they are simple creatures, 90% of them only know what's in their computer, so don't do anything that might confuse them), and then compare that with your current pulley.
