I recently did new ignition coils and iac restrictor plate on my 2002 mustang gt and before hand my A/C was working fine not cold cold but cold enough for this hot Florida sun. But after doing the iac and coils i turned it on and the A/C is just hot/warm really i tried putting free on its filled but from what it seems the condenser isnt kicking on so i dont know what possibly couldnt went out when i did it?

I do not recall if your car has one or two pressure switches but we need to locate them both.

I'm a little concerned that you've already serviced the system with Freon. The only reason is because some of these store bought can contain oil while others do not. Depending on what you serviced it with and how many times, you can end up on a condition where there is way too much oil and not enough Freon.

So, my recommendation is that you test/inspect/replace both pressure switches and take your car to a service center that can:

Suck the system down
Service the system back to proper levels
Check the system for leaks

Now, if you have your own set of A/C gauges and know how to use them then that would change the equation.

I found out about the pressure switch right after i wrote this ill purchase it and replace and see what it could be. Would the switch not allow the compressor to kick over?

Start by testing for electric at the compressor and pressure switch before opening the sysyem. You could have simpky knocked a wire off of something. There's no way you added freon if the compressor wont engage.

Yes, a bad switch could prevent the compressor from activating. But so would no electric signal going to the switch....and then to the compressor.

Yea, I suspect you knocked off a plug; maybe the one on the compressor?

I jumped the switch because unfortunately i ordered the wrong switch for the one against the firewall but still replaced it. Anyways i jumped it to see if THAT would be the problem Still not hearing the compressor kick on to throw freeon through the system maybe my compressor went out? Ill be taking it to a friends mechanic who does all his work on his scat to diagnose it so i know what the actual problem could be

I tested ONE of the plugs by the firewall top left of the motor only one of the holes is getting power other 3 arent. Maybe the one on the compressor but im getting ready for work so i wont be able to check it today.

Check at the compressor first. If no power there, check at the pressure switch on the passenger side up by the radiator. If you have power at the pressure switch but not the compressor then the switch may be bad or possibly the system is extremely low on freon.

It has been my expierence that the pressure switches rarely fail.
