a/c is cold again. i don't know how you guys who delete your a/c can handle it. even with the top down, it is absolutely unbearable.

it took 2 cans of r134-a, but it is now coming out cold again. good thing too because tomorrow is supposed to be 100* out.

is it weird that i had to take out the strut tower brace to get to the nipple? or might this be the steeda brace that i thought i couldn't find?

dang. a/c is still cold, but when i have it turned on, there is a definate grating noise when i let the clutch out. i noticed it on the way home and i can easily reproduce it.

when the a/c is off the clutch doesn't make the noise.

wtf? how could having the a/c on affect the clutch?

Your transmission's clutch makes noise when the AC clutch is engaged?

That's a bit funky. A compressor can make noise but it's not related to the trans's clutch.

That's weird so I give ya a bump.

yes. all i can think is that when the compressor is engaged, maybe the engine is at a little different angle or something, so the flywheel hits the clutch plate early in one spot?

Chris....I feel ya on the a/c.....Everyone at work keeps asking why I don't drive with the top down......I drive through the city and with black interior........Hezz no....top up....a/c cranking........that's one comfort I won't give up on either SN'......I don't care what hp gain and weight reduction I would get....On topic I can't see what would cause that noise ..........unless you could have a friend ease into the clutch while you watch the engine....good luck brother

I've been thinkin about crank thrust issues (regarding the diaphram clutch engagement) and things like that, and I still cant find a correlation.

Does the engine bog very hard when the AC is on?

The engine rpms don't go down much whe the AC is on, but I'm not sure about how it feels when I'm driving around. It doesn't feel all that different, but I've been really gentle with the right foot lately for gas mileage, and I'm sort of worried about the oil consumption. Plus I haven't driven it much since taking the blower off and putting the stock upper intake back on.

I'm going to stop by at my mechanic's on the way to work and see if he has some time to look at it in the few days.
