not really a big deal when i got the car. the low settings for the a/c doesnt work but the high setting does. im glad at the most part i have a/c :D
but i dont want to run it on high all the time. whats the deal ?

Please clarify:
Are you talking about the low HVAC fan position (which applies to all climate settings, not just A/C)?
Or are you talking about normal vs max A/C? This would obviously be for the A/C only.

If talking about the fan (left-most HVAC control), note if only high works or if there is only one speed that doesn't work. If only high works, that suggests a blower motor resistor. For any other issue, the HVAC control itself might have a problem.

Good luck.

The difference in max vs normal AC is that max recirculates air from inside the cockpit and normal pulls it from outside. 99.99 percent of the time you would probably use max (you'd use normal when the interior is hotter than ambient temps. Like when you first get in the car and the interior is 150* and it's 100* outside. This lasts for 10 seconds and then you'd switch to max).

In this case, the HVAC selector itself probably took a dump. I'd replace the 3 pack of controls if you have a spare set. Otherwise you can do continuity checks at the back of the switch and try to clean the contacts if it's something simple like that.
I suggest swapping controls only because they are pretty cheap to buy used.
