Looking to spend around/under 2K for a very streetable, non track car. Building up from an 88 302 that will be paired with an AOD.

Have to get(because I don't have)
CAI
Exhaust
Cam
Oil Pan
Injectors

Would Like to get
Upper and Lower Intake
TB
Heads
Headers

I think thats it.

I am completely new to the 5.0 scene and have no idea on what pairs up good with what, etc, etc. I have NO problem using ebay or buying used. 99% of the work will be done in the garage.

Also, because this is a daily driver I want to build a setup geared towards low-mid rpm range power.

Well for your intake i would recommend the trick flow street (not track heat) intake. It's designed to give power in the range you're looking for. plus, it would probably fit right up with trick flow heads which are also good from what i've heard. I would also recommend long tube headers.

trick flo street i/ and twisted wedges = perfect set up
get a TFS stage 1 or 2 cam too, i guess look at the Trick Flow website for specs and your desired power ranges

Ok, heres my 'on a budget percription':

heads: gt40 cobras $500 w/1.7 rockers
cam: e303, 160, new
long tube headers/h pipe/cat-back, 500
skip the CAI and get an AFM powerpipe (3.5"), 200
intake: cobra (it will also save ya on buying a egr spacer), 250
70mm throttle body: 125, used
30# injectors and 75mm bullet: 275

keep your stock oil pan to save some money. with those parts, if you can find them at that price, will put you at $2010. you should also come close to 290-300rwhp.
Try finding some of the parts (headers, x pipe, throttle body, MAF, injectors) used to save a bit more. YOu might even be so lucky as to find a ported cobra too for just a few bucks more!

AOL IM me if you have any more questions....

Cool, sounds very nice. I was just about to give up on heads because they looked out of my reach. I will however have to get an oil pan, simply because I don't have one. A stock one won't cost much though
