Originally, I had planned on buying a 00-02 GT and then swapping the motor for the 4v cobra and then buying all the exhaust and bolt ons and what not. And then I thought about just buying a regular mustang and still drop in the 4v because eventually all of the stuff from the gt would b gone ne ways and the only diff between the gt and non gt is dual exhaust and some comp programming rite? and now my friend thinks it would b a better idea to get the non gt and not get the 4v and just get a really good set of heads instead. what do you guys think?

Just buy a Cobra and be done w/ it. you get the 4v motor, better looks, better suspension, better interior and actually have an SVT Cobra. Too much trouble and money to swap a V6 to a 4v. Plus, w/ the Cobra, you will always have a better resale value than a v6 stang that was converted to a 4v.
lol no way am i gonna buy a v6. sorry bout that, i should have specified. and the buying the cobra option is completely out of the question for me cuz im a 17 year old kid w/ a very low paying job that is prolly gonna have to rely on the money his parents were gonna give him for college haha. and im not too worried about the resale value either, cuz the only way i will get rid of the stang im gonna have (assuming all my plans dont fail haha) is if once i get married, my wife threatens to divorce me lol.

Just buy a GT and mod it out. Just slap a supercharger on it and get a good tune. If you bought a GT and swapped in a 4v, you're going to spend just as much for the engine swap as a supercharger. wait until the 05's come out and pick up a 99-00 GT since the prices will drop once the 05's come out. Then, save up for the supercharger.

Maybe you should keep the money that your parents are giving you for college and use it for just that, college. If you don't have sufficient funds for a car, why not save up some money for one later down the road? If it was me, I would put my education first. I'm not flamming you. It is your decision.

the reason for that is that im thinkin bout joining the military and like doing somethin w/ computers for them (not actually fighting, i no, im a sissy). im some what of a computer freak so that would b easy for me and the military helps pay for college so...PULMEOVR said:Maybe you should keep the money that your parents are giving you for college and use it for just that, college.
