I'm just feed up with the way my car has been running, I just can't stand it when it isn't running perfect. The idle is up now but is hanging and just every once and a while will stall on me. so I want to go the easy way and get me a chip. What chips do you guys recommend, I am a littel short on money but if I need to I will spend some. Plus, that cold idle kills me when it hesitates.

Thanks,
tom

I am currently trying to move out, buying instead of renting! so the cam will have to wait. Right now I just want to get her running right, considering that i like the power I have at the moment with tfs heads. I will do the cam when I build the 331. (thinking fti custom, they sound like the best out there.) That chip will have to be custom, how does a off the shelf chip know any better than the stock computer.

I have don't resistance tests on my sensors and my mechanic did also so that is not an issue. Plus, I want to do chasis and suspension before more work goes into the engine.

You have enough parts on that car to get a custom chip and improve your power and driveability. An off the shelf chip probably wont help your idle problem much at all.. A custom chip is the only way to go.. autologic or Diablo Revolution... I was told the same guy wrote the software for both of these. Just make sure they are using a wideband when doing your chip and on a rear wheel dyno if possible... your looking anywhere from 400-600$ for a custom chip on the dyno... just depends on who is doing it. There are other options like the PMS or Tweecer. The PMS is fairly easy to use and the Tweecer ive been told is more complicated. I had a PMS in the past and loved it.. it has complete idle control.

I have no clue where I could get a dyno done in my area. How are mail order chips like jms. I heard they go a good job with a questionaire. Is this out of the question?

I would rather get a dyno tune but I don't think that there is a place in the fargo, ND area.

thanks,
tom

Check the phone books... I would think you could get the car to idle right without the need of a chip. Play with your fuel pressure and idle screw on the throttle body. The chip will hep with your overall performance tho.. They made 19 rwhp more on my car with the chip.

boy do I feel dumb, I was adjusting my throttle stop with a pliers. The Tb screw did help but I still have a hanging Idle when I take it out of gear. could monkeying around with the stop screw cause this? if so how would i reset this to stock.

I heard about that screw but could never find it. I was right in front of me all along.

thanks,
tom

Well considering i messed with my idle screws for about an hour and I still am not happy with the idle, I'm going with a custom chip or a tuner. I either need a mail order chip or break out the plasic for a pms. I will not be able to find a dyno tuner within a couple hundred miles from the hole. that is my situation.

Do any you guys have a custom mail order chip. 95blue5.0 is yours off of a dyno or just custom made from modifications.

Thanks,
tom

Mine is the super chip that you can have 4 different program settings. I picked it up at a local speed shop they custom programed it right there for me in minutes. It's going to be dialed in on the dyno next week
