A couple miscellaneous q's

Alright so i am going to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to my car this weekend as well as this bad boy to control my electric fan better: http://www.pressureparts.com/Pressure-part-411266.aspx

First off when threading the MECHANICAL gauge to the local where my schrader valve was and everything, do you guys prefer teflon tape or is/would arp thread sealer work/be better?

Second, are one of the orange plastic tabs threaded in for the switch or do I need drill and tap the radiator for it to fit?

thread sealer! this is what we used on this motor that we built.

no leaks so far.

I didn't have sealer. I'd have used it if I had though.

either or! just dont get the tape full of gas! make sure its all dry before putting it on! mine got tape on it and its been fine for 5 years!

Thread sealer


I used teflon before and a small peice got inside the line. When gas gets on it, it dissolves partially.

Well a small bit drifted up the line to the gauge and lodged in the port. I was chasing a fuel problem for a week before i took the gauge off and saw the peice. I pulled it out with a toothpick and it began reading correctly

I think I you you an apology since I am probably the source of the electric temp switch information. It works backwards from a temp switch that you would use to control an electric fan.

The switch is normally on and when it reaches 180 degrees, it cuts off.
Notice that the temp must drop 50-70 degrees before it turns back on. That isn't a good thing for a water temp switch used to control an electric fan.

that switch shuts off at 180 not on, also says its good for 100 or 220v, not 12v.
