i have a 1997 thunderbird.... soon adding a 2005 mustang gt ... i am going to put new gears on the t-bird and i dont know what size are stock on it now. im thinkin of gettin 3.73s but i dont know . any info or opinions would help, thanks.

Well, here's the rear axle codes for a 1997 Mustang. They might not be the same as your Thunderbird but it's worth a shot. You can find this code on the sticker on the driver's side door jam:
Or you could just crawl up under the car and look at the metal tag on the axle itself. It'll have the ratio stamped on it.
If it says (example) 3.08, then it's 3.08 gears with standard non locking differential. If it says 3L08, then it's 3.08 gears with a tranction-Lok differential.
