Reading through the giant seafoam thread, I was a bit confused as to what the best vacuum hose to use is. People suggest different hoses for the different engines. Whats the best line to use on a 2002 4.6L? Is it the PCV line?

I feel so noobish for asking.....but where is the PCV line?!

i always used one of the lines on the side of the plenum, theres one line in particular that leaves black marks allover hands, that one.. PCV on yours is on the firewall side of the drivers side head. little fitting that pokes out of the valve cover and runs into tubing.

I appreciate it.

One more thing.....I am so deathly afraid of hydrolocking the motor. Any advice against it?

LOL

I've researched seafoam on svtperformance.com and there were a few stories of people hydrolocking their engines by using it

Asking homeless people for car advice > svtperformance...

Just ignore their hydrolocking on SVTP they do not understand or appreciate teh SeaFoam.

i just did it in my car its super easy. the pvc valve was on my drivers side valve cover (might be on your passenger side), pull it, get a little funnel to put in the line (make sure the line is going to your intake mani), have a buddy in the car hold it at 2k rpm, slowly pour half the bottle in. shut car off, wait a couple minutes, and turn car on.

heres a video. dont mind the mismatched wheels, and the car also had cats on it.

Maybe a dumb question

What exactly does the seafoam supposedly do for the 4.6s? I hear how great a product seafoam is but what uses does it actually serve? Maybe i am an idiot but I just don't know.

that would be correct. you can also put it in your gas to clean your fuel system, and in your oil.
