Just sharing an image from our BBQ at Lake Manawa last summer. This is our Nebraska chapter and about 2 Iowa guys made it as well. Trying to get stoked for the upcoming warm season is all.

we really need to organize an all Midwest thing this summer, or sometime in the future. I know a lot of us are planning to go to St. Louis in May for World Ford Challenge 9, but I'd also like to get another thing going. Get all the people we can and pick a good spot to meet. I think some place in Missouri would be pretty central for a lot of people. just a thought.

I really want to meet some of you clowns just to put faces with a pissy attitudes.

Saint Louis is a long drive for me (6 hours) as I would be bringing my son and he would not care for such a long trip.

I dont mind the long drives. ive driven home (PA) and back several times and its a 17 hour trip. a friend of mine died in a bike accident while i was in the service, and his funeral was in Boone, Iowa. We drove through KC, i think it took about 6.5 hours. hmmm......I'll talk to some of the fools down here and guage interest. if we get enough maybe we can start a thread and get the word out to more people. the biggest obstacle will be picking a date thats open for most that want to attend.

anyway, we'll see if this thread sparks any interest and go from there.

I dunno... I've never been to KC though... I know it used to take me about 8 to 9 hours to get to the Quad Cities, used to live in Bettendorf... St Louis was about 9 hours too, I think.

KC's a decent spot and has the I-70 speedway. Also, I think it's the closest 1320 around here now that Scribner, Nebraska's track is shut down.

The only thing in the Omaha metro is an 1/8 mile

If we DO get something going, its gonna be a long haul for a lot of people. KC's 7 hours for me, but I dont mind. Like Tim said, I'd just like put some faces with the smarass comments on the boards and have a little fun. If nothing comes of it, thats ok. Most people dont have a lot of free time as it is and making 5-10 hour drive to hang out with a bunch of gearhead strangers may not be the way they want to spend whatever free time they have.

It sounds like helty and some of the AR folks are doing the St Louis thing.

I cannot make that one (not that it matters much) but would definitely do something in KC.
