A new toy to start... Need a little help

Well with all the things going wrong with sally(pony) I'm getting tired of wasting time and money on her. So next weekend she goes in the shop to get fixed and get a msd box put on. After that she is getting put away for 10 more years then she can come out and play....other then getting a little body work and a 5 lug this fall.


But I'm going to get started on my truck a 1985 f-150 4x4. I got a 300 for it and I need to know what to go with. I just need a fourm or someone to talk to. I need to know what the engine can handle and some other things. I'm going to use a nice tubro with a efi 300 6 with mega squirt. I'm need to know what tranny and a dozen more things asnwered. So if you guys could tell me any fourms or people to talk to thanks..

Try using google to find a "truck" specific forum... I don't know any off hand for the F bodies, but my other car is a Jeep so I know lots of those places on the net.

fordtrucks.com is a good truck site, and fordsix.com has a lot of knowledge about that straight six, there used to be a couple turbo projects on there too if im not mistaken. just be aware that the 300 will not rev like a 5.0, but all the basic v8 concepts are transferable to the 6. offenhauser makes good 2 and 4 barrel intakes for em, efi exhaust manifolds flow pretty well (good cheap shorty headers), and a nice cam ought to do the trick.
