A.R. Daytona 17" wheels, Anyone use?

I've been looking for wheels like since the day I picked up my car. I have struggled to find a wheel I like, that fits the feel of the car and is modern with classic styling. The first ones I can across are the FOOSE Fishtail G's

But then I saw the Price.......

So I've been searching for something in the same vein, I like the AR Shelby wheels, but I see them a lot, and again their spendy. So I've did some more digging, and came across these at 1/2 the cost of the Shelby's and 1/4 the price of the Foose.

has anyone here run them on their car? Pics. Anyone use them on a 71-73? I'm thinking 17x7 in the front and 17x8 in the rear

Second Question? they are offered in +0 and +24 WTF does that mean and how do I measure for what is the right size

What is the link to those? I like them. The +0 and +24 is the offset. 0 meaning there is equal amount of rim in the front and the back (the mounting surface is right in the middle), and the +24 means that the mounting surface is 24mm towards the outside of the rim from the center (more for newer cars). not that good of an explication, but hope it helped.

They are made by American Racing. The Daytona In gray. the also offer them in Polished and full Black. Wheelpros.com is AR's direct seller but most any wheel shop should be able top get them

i have the coys c67 is gunmetal/machined finish. cant beat $700 for all four rims 17x9 & 17x8, and they look killer !

I really like the Foose wheels & think you should just spring for those, it's only money, you can't take it with you, lol.
I bought the Daytona in chrome in 17" for my car last year, and for the same reason. Modern yet classic. I found out that AR just came out with those wheels last year! Same sizes too, 17x7 in front, 17x8 in back. 225/45/17 BFG front, 245/45/17 BFG back.

the AR shelby wheel looks like they were designed for our classic ponies ! a great choice, i think i like them just as my coy's wheels

What offset did you run? 0 front and rear? any rubbing issues?

I talked with CJponyparts. they can get them, and for the same price that the online guys have them! You have to ask for them though, for now they are a special order

Yes, 0 front & rear. They are TIGHT in the back. I hung a string from the quarter, there was 1/4" from the OUTSIDE of the wheel opening to the edge of the tire. I rented an Eastwood lip roller from a guy @ work & rolled the flange lip completely up against the wheelhouse.

Thanks. I wonder if I'll have the same tight fit in my 72 being that its the larger Mustang.

What is the best way to measure what your max width can be? I really cant imagine that you would just slap on some wheels and hope for the best. I want to Push them tight as possible without rubbing, I already have plans to roll the wheel well lips if necessary before the car gets paint.

Try tying a washer or nut to the end of a kite string and tape it to the quarter panel above the center of the wheel opening. Then all you have to do is measure to the face of the drum/disc/axle flange and that will give you a distance that would be equal to 1/2 your wheel/tire package.
You didn't say what pricing was @ CJ, here is a link to the place I got mine from. They are up over $100 for the set more than I paid for them last May!!
