A trick I learned that save me tons of time. Very usefull!

Hey everybody... i have browsed some of the engine bay restoration post and I see alot of peeps using tape to cover the wires and brake lines before they paint... ever try getting the tape off after it has set on there for days.. I hope you used quality tape or you have mess on your hands. Well I have a solution. I dont remember where I learned this but it has saved me alot of time and not to mention its simple. Wrap aluminum foil around your wires and lines to protect them. It clings to it self so its easy to use and NO STICKY TAPE CLEANUP..Just thought I would share...

Yea I have done that to paint replaced radiator supports and frame rails at the body shop, has helped me save ALOT of time and un masking is a piece of cake!

I wrap my christmas presents in aluminum foil as well

If you use aluminum foil it will protect your car from alien mind probes yeah yeah I learned that from teh movies

I just took all the wires out.....and I kinda like the "camoflaged brake line" look. You can't even see em.

I think if I was redoing my engine bay and was not planning on running the wires and brake lines a diff route, i would just paint over them...
well the brake lines at least.
I just hid my wires in the fender. now im afraid to drive it in the rain, or go through car washes. i wish i never did it. everytime i go down a bumpy road all i can think of is that my starter solenoid is gonna wiggle loose, fall off inside the fender, ground out all the + wires and fry my EEC.
anyway, tin foil... good thinkin

well if you think about it. If its in the the fender or in the engine bay if it falls of in either its going to short...so dont tread so lightly and start enjoying your ride.

That joke of a Pen saved the lives of the Guys that landed on the moon, they had to use it as a tool because there was some sort of problem, a pencil would not have worked!
