Ok ,
the new polished 18" aluminium bullits finally arrived here after a long wait ...
They arrived with some damage , but nothing that can't be dealt with .

Before mounting the tyres , my mech asked me if I wanted them to be coated with a suitable gloss varnish for added protection against age and stains .

The rims are stock ford bullits and if they are not protected I will have no problem , but if there is already a layer of transparent varnish on them , the new varnish I want to apply may get yellow ... I don't want to spoil them , so I ask your help :

anyone knows if these rims are already protected ?

We cannot be absolutely sure by just looking at them , since there could be a thin layer of protection ... these are special paints for high temperature , so I must be sure .

Thanks for your help

I wasn't sure if they were bare or Ford put a coating on them, so i tried a little wax on a small area. It worked great so i waxed em all a couple of times. Water beads up and their easy to clean. Helped perk up the shine also.

Thanks for the suggestion , surely is the best way to keep em bright without the risk of damage . I'll look at the meguiar store for a specific product for rims .
