Hey Guys, well here is my ? It's two parts really

The first is:

Does anyone recommend a good shift light, that isn't a total hassle to install, or overly expensive, i've been looking over some information but it looks like you can't just splice into the tach wire anymore on my car(02GT) seems you have to buy some sort of adapter, and it's like $75.00, so anything made out there where you don't need an adapter,

and my second ?:

Will premium unleaded gasoline make that much of a difference in the way my car will perform? Talked to a guy yesterday who seems to think so.

Thanks in Advance

Chris

The higher the octane, the harder it is to ignite. Higher octane fuel is used to prevent pre-ignition. Pre-ignition is when the fuel ignites before it is supposed to putting extreme stress on the motor. Pre-ignition is commonly called detonation. Unless your car was designed for or is tuned for a higher octane, you will get the best performance from plain old 87. Since the higher octane fuel is harder to ignite, running an octance higher than required may leave you with unburned fuel in the combustion chamber which may wind up leaving deposits behind and possibly fuel contamination in your oil. Bottom line is it is just a waste of money.

I ran 87 in my car until the blower went on. Never had any issues.

As far as a shift light goes, look into the raptor. It's ~ $85 bucks and you just splice into your computer. That's what I'll be ordering for my car.

Agree on the raptor shift light, no adapter needed.

No need for premium unless you reflash your computer with a performance tune.
