lol....got the new summit catalog and guess whats in there!!! the trickflow 2v intake!! $799......its about fugging time, but i still think its a bit pricey.

since its not on their website, here is exactly as it is advertised...

I emailed them the other day. They apparently pushed the release date to March.

I wonder if it'll ever get released... Youve got to worry that they aren't making any power... why all the delays.

I'm still in line for one.....I think If you think this thing is a ripoff, then the Bullitt manifold is even more ridiculous. Yet people put that intake on non-bullitts all the time. I understand the feeling, but at least were not talking $1000+ here. This thing definitely isn't a Typhoon either so they had to ask more money for it. I also just saw that the Hi Performance Solutions intake is being sold for $749, so the Trickflow isn't that far off. If it ends up coming out, they had to have found some power to make it economical to produce for them. The last thing they would do is design, fab and tool for a new intake when it makes squat for power. At lest thats what I hope is the case. Only time will tell...

They said they gained 20 rwhp on a stock 01 GT.

OK.... 20hp divided by 2 = 10 actual hp if your lucky.
Plus it will weigh 10 or 15 lbs more.

I think the Ford stock intake just cant really be beat.

I personally think aftermarket manifolds are a waste of $$$ on N/A stangs, unless you're really desperate to squeeze out that last 1-3hp, if possible. I'd still only use a Bullitt's, and that's IF the car is blown.

From what I have seen most all companys way over estimate thier own products.
Take plenums or CAI's for example. Most CAI's claim 12 to 20 hp
Most plenums about the same, so I divide by 2 to get an accurate hp increase.

If I was going to replace the intake on the GT with anything other than factory, I think I'd go with a P-51..

Well, I'd feel safer about running nitrous with that intake. The plastic ones have a bad habit of exploding, then all that sharpnel gets sucked into the engine......don't ask.

edelbrock 4.6 intake has been in their catalog for a year, but still not for sale...we have been hearing it will be ready soon for how many years now? My hopes are not up for this or any 2V intake.

I beg to differ. I think its fairly easy to beat a plastic intake that loves to crack and is a hazard with nitrous as well.

I should have said the ford intake is hard to beat in a NA Stang.
I can definatly understand why you guys with SC's or nitrous would be
interested in a stronger unit, not really looking for a puny 10hp gain.

Yes, it could be a bad intake at an even worse price, but there is absolutely no documentation out yet about power increases, etc. I guess we all need to see what kind of numbers come out with the intake. When it comes to these motors, power is expensive. If it makes 15-20 rwhp then thats about the price we usually have to spend to see similar gains With the mod motor, the price scale is just different. This is going to be the most economical option for a brand new intake from a company with a large reputation behind it. Any replacement intake less than $800 is from companies with less of a track record. DropTop...my hopes aren't up for this intake or the Edelbrock, but if it comes out and makes power then I may have to look into buying it.

The 4.6 has been around for 11 years in the Mustang and now they finally designed the holy grail of Intakes? I doubt it.
