Ok so heres the problem... READY BoYS and girls... He wrecks his skyline near the end of the movie so he takes the engine and transplants it into his fathers 67 fastback..... :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :jaw: crapola crapola :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame:

Your thoughts on this gentlemen.

i think they were trying to appeal to both sides of their auto enthusiest target market. taking a classic domestic car god, and dropping in the engine from an import god.

thinking about it,(dont get me wrong i hate these movies and if they had a lick of an idea about how a car works, physics, and using the correct terminology during the production of the movie maybe it wouldnt suck so bad) i would rather them had put a sbf or sbc into an rx7 or somthing, like people do all the time.

however there is the percieved value in the branding of the elenor image they are trying to steal/capatalize on as well.

going the other way though i dont think it would fly well with the 'new import scene' this movie is fueling if they took an old technology engine into a new tech car, and with the new import scene consumer/ricer whatever.

Yea but during the filming it really has a 428 in it or something like that.

There is an Article in HotRod about it and to do all the work they needed a V8, and they did fit the Ricer Engine in a Mustang after like 3 months of work, but they do it over night in the silly movie. I did not waste my $ on the 1st 2 movies and I sure wont on this one either!!!

Yea they defintaly did put the skyline engine in the mustang, and if it was one of the back up cars, i doubt there going to use back up cars with 428's in it, probably have the ole straight 6

I know im going to laugh at it alot but what the hell, im gonna go see it, its entertainment, and cars combined.

"new import scene" i like that

this movie is about 5 years late on the whole drift culture in THIS country, and even when it started to catch on here, we were still about 10 years behind Japan on it.

so do the math, this movie is about 15+ years behind in the trend..........anyone shocked?

Bring me Initial D anyday over this POS Franchise.

They should re-make the first fast 'n furious but use only real cars like black notchbacks instead of civics, true muscle cars and the like... Man that would have been a kick ass movie!

oh I saw the preview at the movies, it called TF&TF: Tokyo Drift. OMG, it was bad enough having these ricers trying to race us, now they are going to be sliding into things. I'll admit, drifting is difficult, but it's not a sport. I guess it's kind of like automotive figure skating. It's really stunt driving. Anyways, it's another corny movie to me. After the first movie, I never saw the other one. If you want to drift, buy a boat.

drifting is like the ballet of autosports: and last time i checked, ballet was gay.

on a more serious note, i have some pictures somewhere around here of the car. let me see if i can find them. i cant believe they trashed a 67 fastback like that though. and personally im GLAD they used rice in the first two movies, because if they had used our cars and f-bodies and stuff, and they butchered everything about it, i would have been SEVERELY pissed.
