so i need new struts/shocks. ive kinda settled on tokico hp's but thats aside the point. somethings squeaking badly and i think its the strut getting stuck compressed, but under my car when you turn, the rack kinda moves on those 2 mounts. i see the solid ones on latemodel. are these easy to replace? should i worry about them? or leave them alone? hard to replace them?

Not hard at all. The rubber steering rack bushings wear out, and a lot of people like to go with Maximum Motorsports bushings. Some are 2 piece, some are 1 piece. You'll have to check what you have. The front bushings are no problem. For the rear bushings you have to disconnect the two bolts (9/16") that hold the steering shaft to the rack. Disconnect the bolts that hold the rack to the K-member(3/4" with a 5/16" wrench on the end).

No biggie.
