Well I have looked around quite a few boards. You do agree that the stroker can't spin as high as a stock stroke car can? All you have to do is look at how the Centrifugal stroker cars are doing compared to positive displaced SCed cars. The positive displaced cars are putting out better number's when RPM limited around 6500 RPM. A lot of the big name strokers from MPH are switching from centrifugal SC to the KB unit. I am pretty sure that is the reason why.

Regardless, the only Twin Screws able to suport the power he's looking to make are the 2.2L Kenne Bell, or the Whipple 2300AX. Both of which will easily double his $5,000.00 budget before he see's the numbers he looking for. A Novi 2000 on the other hand, will suport the kind of power he's looking for (even with the RPM limit of the stroker motor) and still be able to do it $3,000-$4,000 cheaper than either of the big Twin Screws in the process.

i suppose I should list all my mods so you can see exactly what I'm working with. I used to have them in my sig but the list got too stinking long. Here goes:

Airflow
Mac Straight Shot CAI
Accufab 75mm T Body
Granatelli Motorsports Plenum
PI Intake
VT Stage 2 Cams
Comp Cams Springs
Unported PI Heads
Mac Longtube Headers, no cats
Mac Prochamber
Magnaflow Magnapack Catback

Speed/Power Enhancers
SCT Excalibrator
FRPP 3.73 Gears
MM Subframe Connectors
Nitto 555R DR's
Pro 5.0 Shifter

Looks
2004 Cobra Rims 17x9 Front, 17x10.5 Rear
Chrome Bumper Inserts
Billet Shift Knob
Billet Shifter Bezel
Billet Gauge Bezel

To Be Installed
VT 302 Stroker Mod Shortblock

That's it. There's my money pit. I don't smoke or drink so that's where my cash goes. Other than every clothing store in town from my wifes purse.

I guess he needs to up his budget then. I didn't read that he was budget constrained.

You would be wise to invest in some ported heads, different cams and a ported Bullitt intake to go with any SC you get.

Not really budget constrained, budget self constrained. If I spend more than about $6500CDN on a blower the wife will beat the hell out of me . I've already priced them out. The KB Blowzilla is only $6100. the supporting cast of stuff that i will need is going to be a pain in the @ss though. A Cobra R hood, Cobra fuel tank (may not need), two 255 fuel pumps and the list goes on. I don't know if i have the patience to be nickeled and dimed to death after spending that kind of cash. That's kinda why I was looking at centrifugal, cheaper and a full package all at once while still giving me the power i want at the strip and still streetable with the power curve. I may be just pipe dreaming about 600rwhp. I would really like to get there, just don't know if it's possible right now. I may have to wait on the ported heads for a later time. I'll see what happens as the build progresses. I don't think I'll have enough until early Spring/Summer. I just want to get a plan of action so I don't go down the wrong road. I've already done that twice with the PI heads on 96 block = not boost friendly and buying the NA VT Stage 2 cams. I'm too damn impulsive sometimes and it costs me. I want to be smarter this time. Thats why I'm consulting you Stangnet experts.

Ya, I should have gone the Blower cam route right off the bat but i didn't, too impulsive, and if I get the KB the intake is a moot point. i do want ported heads but it will be too much right now i think. I'll get some cometic gaskets for the heads and ARP studs and call it a day. The crappy plastic intake should survive for now.

Ever consider grabbing yourself a Junkyard Mark VIII engine and stripping it to do a 4V head swap, then adding a Cobra induction and cams along with a Centrifugal and going that route? Those old 4V castings even un-ported will support enough air for your requirements and between the wreckers and Ebay shouldn't kill your budget. Not to mention you could always sell off your PI heads/VT cams and springs for a healthy amount to recoup a lot of the cost.

I bought an entire '93 Mark VIII for $500.00 Canadian. As soon as I start itching for another project, you can be sure that I'll be using its 4V as my foundation.

As a matter of fact, I was checking out what ATI had to offer the other day and some of their self contained intercooled units looked pretty tempting for the money. That might be another avenue to consider.

MPH has done Novi cars with stock heads, and intake with cams. They make more then 600 RWHP.

If you are budget self restrained how much better does it get then that.

Well you are definetly making me think Novi. Sounds like it really could be the way to go. Is the Novi 2000 the most powerful unit or is there an upgrade? I've only heard of the 1200 and the 2000. I can pick up a 2000 for $4500CDN.

There was a track only Novi 3000 in the works, but it's not for you. You'll never max out the 2000 as it is.

I could have got an 03 mach engine for $2000 with harness and everything but I thought why bother? 2valves are making as much power as the 4 valves are with the proper set up. I still would have had to forge the internals anyways to get the max out of either engine. That's why I didn't go the whole engine swap route.

Sweet, the Novi 2000 sounds like it will work for me

Thanks for the suggestion WOT. I think I've found a winner.
