Hey guys I dont have anymore blower control in my car anymore its basically on or off the lower speeds dont work:( any clue what it could be is there a resistor on it like in the older versions that controls how much power goesw to the motor it seems to blow strong when it does but i dont have a meter with me tonight to check the voltage.

any help would be awsome
Thanks
Brad

Yep more than likely it's your blower resistor. It's located on the passenger side underneath the dash. There is a electrical connector plugged into it, and it's held to the ducting by 2 screws. Should be able to pull it out and see the resistor is blown out.

ya i saw that and took it out but its a plate kinda looks like a black resin coated circuit board..different than the older models ill have to go to ford and pick one up as i dont think part stores will have one. i replying on my phone so the forums are wierd hope this comes out ok

thanks for the blower resistor help and ticking valves

Hi guys, I am new to the site. I was Googling help for my blower fan in my 2002 Mustang GT. Your site came up immediately, I pulled the resistor, which was all but rusted to dust, replaced it and the problem was solved. By the way, Advance Auto wanted $44.00 for the part and the Dealer only wanted $20.00! I think that's a first for me!

In addition, I have had some tapping of the valves/lifters for about 600 miles now. Nothing shows up in the oil, and it only happens right at 2000 RPMs with no resistence. I guess I'll need to pull the covers and find the source. THanks again fo the help though!

Any advice on fixing the wife? LOL

ya its 22 bucks at my dealership going to pick it up now and mine was doing the same sound and my motor just went something insidre and not the valvetrain looks good i think a rod or a valve dropped in my first cylinder ...

but i found a 4.0 with a 1k miles for 1200 bucks so not to bad and i can put it in myself

I switched it how and now the blower works on all the power settings. The old one must have shorted out, and for 22 smackers it was pretty cheap. thanks for all the help guys
