Righto, my 93 LX N/A. The AC died, and I'm quite sure it's not a matter of recharge, as it was working great, ice cold. Then next time I started it up, it wouldn't work at all, and hasn't since.

Just wondering how difficult it would be to replace the AC on this thing. I'm not too much a mechanic, the only gear I have is a basic craftsman wrench set. I do know what's what and how to put stuff back together that I take apart, so anybody wish to show me exactly what I do to replace the AC if I snag one off ebay?

This depends on several items.

Yes, you can replace all of the ac system parts at home with basic tools, compressor included. You will need to get a set of ac line disconnect tools.

That said, if its still charged, you should have it emptied at a shop and reclaimed.

Then you need a shop to evacuate the system after you fix it, and refill it.

If you can find a shop that's willing to work with you, go for it. Otherwise, you may be stuck having a shop fix it.
