ac sounds like a ps pump on it's way out ?

i know another ac question but i really need help

at first i thought my PS pump was going bad i quickly noticed it only happens when ac is turned on and is consistent wiht engine RPM not very loud but loud enuf to get my attention other then the noise it works perfectly blows very cold air ac has never been serviced the car is an
03 has 88k on it i will be happy if it lasts till end of summer im just scared it might "LOCK UP"
and shred my belt and destroy the radiator big problem or easy fix thanks

Yea, your ac pump has bearings and a piston to make high pressure only when the pressure switch and the clutch is engaged does that pump and bearings come into use, much like the bearings on your axle, or in your rear carrier when they go bad or get worn they start to make buzzing noises, its not a severe problem, but its a sighn that you will need to replace the compressor. The compressor not going to lock up unless the bearings are toatal gone! Hope this helps!!!!
