well hmmmmm...if you look at the specifications page on their website it says .054 and then it says .044 for dual plug but if you look at the part number for 87-90 it shows it as pregapped to .044 so I guess that was an error
There should be a post on this, when I swaped plugs on my 93' 2.3L LX.
On my 93' 2.3L it has on the sticker located on the drivers feder that said 042-.045, So I could gap mine between .042-.045. I gaped mine at .042, because over time and lots of heat the gap opens up. With them at .042 you have a little leway before haveing to mess with them again, than if you gaped them at .045. I want to say it was stinger who told me that, but don't qoute me.
Best tools to have : 1) vaccum hose that fits the end of the spark plug 3/8 ID, I think and 6-9" long. (to help screw in the intake plugs).( the 3/8 ID may depend on plug type, I used Bosch Plats)
2) Plug boot pliars to help get a better grip on th intake wires.
3) 5/8 swivel spark plug socket.
4) 9" extention (3/8 drive) (or a 6" plus a 3")
5) 6" 1/4 extention ( this was used to slide in the vaccum tube to keep it straight instead of curved shaped which helped out a lot
(one tip that help me because I have big hands lol...Unplug the EGR electric plug and vaccum tube. this will allow a hair more room to get that last intake plug near the fire wall. )
I'm sorry about the post being long, but figured that crap helped me out a lot to do my plugs, so maybe it can help someone else
