i know that it will be faster since i will be able to hold my own gears and all but how much more torque to the wheels will i get, i know the aod has a bad first gear. my t5 is from an 87 so does that have the 2.95 1st or the steeper one??

anyway, will i be able to feel more acceleration from the better gear ratios in the t5 over the AOD?

yours probably has the 3.35 first gear......
now i have been seeing where they have these t-5s called a 2.95 t-5, which uses a 2,95 first.....which is what the t-5z has, but.....i don't believe these transmissions have the .63 overdrive like the t-5z does.....just more stuff to confuse us i guess.......

ok think of it this way... instead of waiting for liquid to push your wheels, when you hit the gas the power's gonna be right there, sort of the difference between a turbo or centrifugal supercharger vs. a positive displacement one, instant accel.

it will feel hella fast compared to that AOD.. It' s like night and day...
:Word: I didn't believe everyone when they told me how much of a difference the t-5 would make. The first time I got my car back from my buddy that did my swap, I couldn't stop smiling when I drove it. When my car was AOD I had instant traction on regular radials even with 3.73s, with the t-5 traction was nonexistent.

I was considering changing my AOD for a T-5, but everyone says that an automatic is more reliable when you start climbing about 400hp....does anyone sell a complete kit to convert an AOD to a T-5? If I dont go to a T-5 I will use the Lentech AOD. Thanks.
