I thought it was another expensive scam but if you guys get the new Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine July 04 issue, its has a full indepth article on the Boost intercooler from SNOW PERFORMANCE, they go through a full install on a 87 stang that gained 78rwhp!!

It seems it would help cool off the charge, which would make it denser, which should make more power...

Those results are of a stage 2 injection on a s/c'd car where methanol would get better gains. The NA version that is 299 is quoted to only deliver 10-15hp when used in combination with a 'full timing' tune.

basically but it seems that it will allow you to run tons more timing w/o detonation that actually gives you more RWHP.

most windshield washer fluids are up to 50% alcohol (methanol, ethanol, isopropanol) and make an excellent Boost Cooler
In high boost/high horsepower application, a full blast 1/4 mile run will utilize as much as 1/8 tank. A larger tank should be considered if over 9psi boost is utilized in road racing where a tank can be used in as few as 6 - 2 mile/ full tilt laps. Under normal street use in a 400 HP Mustang, a tank usually lasts about 500 miles

Moved this to Tech for a discussion. Water injection on N/A cars has been around a long time. I remember working with a friend on his car back around 1978 using a Moroso kit. Most of us can raise our timing and use 93 octane without pinging. Not sure what an additional $299 would get an N/A car.

It did seem to stop detonation on hot days but any power gains were not noticible. I'm sure if you cool the boost on a S/C car, the gains will be big.

ok might be a dumb question but , can you run just water on these kits or does it have to be a methanol/water mix , and I might be really dumb by asking but where do you just go buy methanol ??? , someone said alcohol , what kind of alcohol , JACK DANIELS work ??? LOL

The Subaru WRX STi comes with this setup from the factory. Im pretty sure it's just sprays washer fluid on the intercooler. Who knows? This mod definitely is good for forced induction cars though. I know a guy that has the Snow Performance kit on his '03 Cobra and he is happy with it.

Windshield washer fluid has methanol in it. A lot of blower guys are running this to make up for the power lost to the warmer weather. Basically an effecient intercooler.. Most gained 30-40 HP, but Im sure you could bump it up with timing. If I remember correctly it's boost activated.

You think I could be a cheap skate and just run my washer hose in the discharge tube and wire the washer pump on a NOS BUTTON on the steering wheel like in those i wish i was fast and fart can movies and give it a shot when im racing down some alley ways . LMAO !!!!!!!!
