Hey everyone,

I just bought a set of infinity speakers for my doors...as we all know the stock amp won't run a 4 ohm set of speakers (not in a way that is pleasing to the ears or the speakers for that matter). I have a piece of garbage 10 year-old (at least) craig 2-way bridgeable amp sitting in my basement that I figured I could use with it for the time being. I'm in a bit of a cash situation. I don't know too much about car audio, although I do know quite a bit about home audio.

I figure I'll use that amp for now, and connect it to a 12v power source I use for a fuel cutoff switch. How do I connect that amp to the headunit and still use the rest of the system. (I have a Pioneer deck installed and running). running the new wiring isn't an issue, I can handle that. Thanks...

dont use that existing power wire to run an amp..

go get some good power wire, used for car audio. and run it straight to the battery, or you'll be sorry. and make sure to get a GOOD ground.

if the amp has rca pre outs on the back of it, wich it should, thats how you hook it to the amp.

the factory amps will be connected to the speaker outputs, so as long as you dont mess up any of the existing wiring, everything else should continue to work along with the new amp.. you will need to splice into the remote wire from the deck so your amp knows when to turn on.. and then the speaker wires obvously, but other than that it should be good to go.
