I just installed a Vortech V-2 S-Trim on my '05 S281-N/A last week. I highly recommend the Vortech over the Saleen blower. The 2005 Stock S281 SC's are making around 380-390 to the rear wheels and I'm probably going to make 505 rwhp with just the Vortech kit (the numbers were from a magazine article on the SC and from another person here in my town that actually put the sc on a stock '05 GT). I will be doing some dyno tuning on Wednesday and will post the results. It took my friend and me about 9 hours to install and cost $3299 including the SCT XCalibrator Tuner. I should state, though, that the stock SC is only pushing 5 lbs of boost and I'm pushing almost double that with the Vortech. Also, the Vortech doesn't give the type of low-end power that the roots/twin screw chargers give, but it more that makes up for it in the mid-high rpm range.
As far as warranty goes, I believe you car will be warrantied if you install a Saleen SC and have the installation performed at a dealership or shop that is certified by Saleen to perform the installs. That is the information I received when I was going to buy the Saleen blower as a add-on to my car from the dealership.

Hope this helps!

I forgot to add one thing yesterday. A guy who owns a speed shop here in town did the pulley upgrade (8 Lbs. boost) to his stock '05 SC and a tune and dyno'd at just over 400 rwhp.

05 281-SC pulley upgrade numbers

Took me only 6 months to up my boost on my 05 281-SC. Stock boost is approx. 3.5 and I wanted a nice safe 8 - ish. Talked with JimIII at JDM. He hooked me up with the following:

39# injectors
Smaller pulley for 8psi total (3.6 I believe)
JDM CAI
90mm lightning MAF
new belt
XCal with 2 tunes +16deg +14deg for 91 octane

Long story short. 1st dyno only saw 371/360

Why?

Probable "way-too-hot" intake conditions
Slight chance of pulled timing (didn't really see this on the datalogs)
Possible chance of screwy dyno readings.

Best guess is that engine is EXTREMELY sensitive to intake temp.

Second dyno pull at a different shop with cold-ish engine and 100 octane. Got myself 423/400.... Just like Jim at JDM said I would. (Thanks Jim!)

So... it looks like it would be fairly easy and safe to take a little more timing and get even MORE power if you used 100 octane (2 more degrees for 455hp ?!)... word of warning though... Fuel pump is not up to the task. Going to try a BAP to eliminate pressure drop at 5500 rpm.

Bottom line.... LOTS more power and FAR better low end throttle response.
You have to have a stiff leg or you will end up 'modulating' the throttle as your body will be tossed around a bit. vrooo---vrooo----vrooo
Pretty damn embarassing to say the least.

Hope this hasty post helps any of you who were contemplating the same thing.

I will post my 'final' results after I add the BAP, a smooth C&L inlet and a race gas tune. I will also verify that my regular JDM tunes work well on straight Cali. 91 crap. cold and hot.
