adjustable clutch quadrant

Hey what's up. I have a question about the adjustable clutch cables. I put one on my mustang with the firewall adjuster and it broke about 8 months later. I just put another one on and want to try and make sure I don't have to do this that often. The quadrant I have is the triple pick up. Which one of the hooks are you supposed to hook the cable up to?

What brand of adjustable cable are you using? It might not be anything more than the cable causing your issues.

I'm not sure what brand cable it was. Something I got off ebay. The cable that I put in now is from 5.0 resto; hopefully it's a better one. Does it matter which one of the hooks on the triple pick up quadrant you use?

Clutch cable quality is all over the place - for troublefree operation, I'd consider a Ford cable (or MM's version, etc).

Cant help on the hook since I run a single hook quadrant. It really wont matter (dont use the 3rd one since it's there for patent-reasons) since you have the adjustable cable anyhow.

i bought a steeda adjustable cable when i first did my auto - manual swap. it streched then broke after 3 months. i went and bought an oem cable after that and it is going on 4 years with no trouble at all. aftermarket clutch cable quality not only depends on the manufacturer but also the batch the cable came out of. oem is the only safe way to go.
