my Ebrake doenst engage anymore. Took it to ford to see if it was a recall
isue. They said it wasn't. But since I got the car a year ago, I'm not sure
if the recall was ever done.

I had the problem and took it to Ford to have the recall done yesterday. I guess they adjusted it as well since now I can only pull it up about 2/3 the way and it engages much better.

I say just take it in and get it done, and hopefully they'll have the courtesy to tighten it up for you.

ok, hold on to yourself cause this gets messy.crawl under the car and find where the e brake cable attaches it's going to be hard to see the driveshafts in the way.there's a bracket spot welded to the body that holds the rear cables at the attachment point if that bracket is bent down kind of pulled away from the body THAT'S THE PROBLEM the bracket has created slack in the cable it's got to be pushed back up. I jacked it back up and welded it.Not for everyone and not so easy either. If the bracket is not the problem then you have to go in the console at the top of the brake handle there's a chrome clip thats attached with a 8mm bolt on the right side of the handle. When removed it releases the gears of the handle so you can adjust the cable. that's the adjustment point. This is where if you can get this to a dealer-machanic-buddy that has done this before it will save you alot of work, I know I did it the hard way.Not that you can't do it but it gets messy. By the way once the cable is tight and the handle only clicks about 3times when you pull it and for some reason you want to remove the console, the console want come out cause the handle has to be almost straight up for the console to clear, remember the little chrome clip cause that's the only place you can release the handle.lots of luck hope this will help
