ADJUSTING ROLLER ROCKERS!!!!!!!

I need to know how to adjust roller rockers the right way! they are 1.6 crane cam roller rockers on GT-40P heads! I think they are to tight and keeping my valves open!!

if they are pedestal rockers, just turn the engine over until the lifter is on the base of the cam an torque that rocker, continue until all are set. I don't recall the torque spec but its like 18 pounds.

ok when turning the motor over what lifter goes up first the exhaust side or intake side

get your self a hyanes manuel for an older mustang and they will give u the exact sequence to adj them it can be a pain but it works great u can also look on crowers web site or comp cams web site and they have directions on proper valve adjustmentwhat they say to do is after the intake valve on #1 goes past full lift and starts on its way down adj the exaust valve to do the intake valve is the same way u get the exaust valve to where it goes past full lift and starts on its way down then adjust the intake valve
hope this helps this is only one of the ways u can adj the valves and there are many ways
for your info if u do have pedestal mount rockers they do make shims so u can adj the valves it is a pain in the rear

when i had pedistal mounts i didnt do any of the intake open exhaust closed stuff, i just rotated the engine until the valve was at the closed position and torqued them down. Never had any problems doing it this way

Simply put, the valves just need to be adjusted when the lifter is on the base circle of the camshaft. There really is no actual reason (except organization/time) to follow each lifter on different cylinders. Just pick one valve that you want to adjust and rotate the engine over until the valve is not lifted.

The base circle is the point where there is no lift applied to the lifter.
