Advice needed on torque converter and stall speed.

My car is sitting in a tranny shop for the third time this year, very frustrating to say the least! This time the shop says my converter is not balanced causing vibrations in the car. So I'm thinking of just getting a new converter instead. What brand converters are available and what stall should I get for a daily driver with my mods. Everyone seems to say go for the PI when I did a search. Thanks.

I would go with a pi 2800 stall. Houston performance has the best prices and they drop ship it from pi. What else has it been in the tranny shop for?

First time was to have the unit installed. Second time was to send it back for warranty work (total rebuild). Now the tranny shop says the converter is not balanced causing the steering vibration I was feeling.

It's how much you want to spend. You could get a Art Carr one. They are cheaper than the PI and they are still a good converter. And Edge seems to make a good one. Wait and see how Jason(1hot5.0) likes his. He should get geting it intalled this weekend.

It's an Art Carr converter that's in there now. It seems like the AOD guys use Edge converters more than 94-95 guys. I got a quote from both and it's approximately a $200 difference.

PI is the best converter for a stang.I have a 2800 stall. Its a little loose because my motor is stock.I would go for a 2400 stall, unless your gonna change the cam.Actually I like it being a little loose, but Im changing the cam this winter so its good..Yeah 2400 if your keeping it stock. You wont believe the difference it makes But there 700 beans! The other good one is Edge, thses are great converters for half the price.P.S.--Dont forget a TRANNY COOLER
