Advice Needed: Tire Size

I have a 2004 GT with stock wheels and tires. I just purchased FR500 wheels, 18X9 for the front and 18X10 for the rear. I am going to purchase BF Goodrich GForce KD tires. Currently I am considering 295/35/18 for the rear and 265/40/18 for the front. I do not race, but I do regular high speed freeway running at 100+ MPH.

I would appreciate technical folks' advice on if I've hit the right sizing for tires,a dn if not what they would recommend and the technical reasons why.

Might want something a bit bigger for the rear. With a 10" wheel, it would look best with some meaty 315s.

The front size looks good to me.

I have 18x8 and 18x9 wheels on my stang. You should defiantly go with 275's on the front and 305's in the back.

265's will be small for the rim, you rim will be lil bit wider than tire.
305's will be perfect less road drag and excellent fit.
if you are drag racing go with 315's in the back.

Really? American Muscle suggests a 265 on an 18X9 wheel and 285 for the 18X10... and believe it or not, Tire Rack suggests a 245 on an 18X9 and a 275 on an 18X10!!

305 sounds interesting, but 315s might be a bit much for me. I am concerned a 275 might rub... no?

I have 285's on the front of my car and wish I had gone with 265s. You won't have a problem with flushness until you get down to 255. 245 will start giving you a small gap between the rim and the tire.

I wouldn't go with a 285 on the 18x10 for sure. The 305s are a good idea too.

For what its worth, a 265 tire is 10.4" wide. That'll give you .7" over each side of the rim.

Might rub depends on the wheel off set. But how often you you make full wide turns? it's up to you to decide, i think 275's front will be perfect fit.
