advice on converter

im going to run an AODE with a 28"tall tire and a 4.10 or 4.30 gear.. i was looking at converters .. and my friend has a trans shop and told me aode and 4r70w are the same the gearing is just different.. so i was looking at converters and i want an opinion od 'dirty dog converters" and circle d and yank.. what size should i run.. and wats the differce in a 10" converter and 11" converter and can i run a 10'?.. thanks for the help guys


ps.. the trans has just a shift kit.tci vb, and a different over drive band..
 
A converter is a lot like a cam. Sure, you can ask on the internet, and you'll probably get a few random responses that are somewhat close to what you actually need, but your best bet is to actually go and talk to a professional converter guy. A pro converter dude is going to set you up with exactly what you need.
 
It may also help a lot if you dyno your car so you know where your power and torque curve are so the pro can better recomend you a converter. Like NikwoaC said, it's like a cam.
 
well the car isnt put together yet..im kinda building around the trans.. its just a bolt on 302 with full arp bolts... and 150 kit.. some ported heads and trickflow intake.. nothing to fancy for now.. just looking to get some low 11s out of it..
