hey everyone~
i'm preparing to drop my my T-5 trans (to replace with another trans) and i'm wondering what needs to get dropped in order to do this? the reason i'm asking is b/c if i'm going to drop other things i'm considering changing out other parts as well.

any advice on what to change out?
driveshaft? clutch? headers? what else comes off when swapping a trans?

my car is straight stock and i wouldn't mind adding a little performance to it. any advice is appreciated. thanks!

might go ahead and change out the rear main seal, its like a $3 part and then you dont have to pull the trans down the road for a leaking one  you wont need to remove anything other than the driveshaft, trans cross member and exhaust to drop the t5

be sure to put a new pilot bearing in the crankshaft. they are cheap. Also have the flywheel resurfaced while you are at it and check the clutch. New throw out bearing would be good to do as well.

New pilot bearing
new rear main seal
New flywheel ($90 vs $60 to resurface)
New Clutch+ Throwoutbearing
New T5
Aluminum driveshaft
new aftermarket H-pipe

I guess what you do depends on your budget

agreed. except i hear aluminum driveshafts go out of balance early...true? untrue? lol that would probably be the last thing i do compared to the other stuff.
