Not converting one body style to another. Neighbor 2 houses down wiped out in his 92 lx hatch. Cosmetic damage externally is major but the frame is ok. He also has a nice 86 LX hatch roller. I'm going to be helping him either way.

92 drivetrain into the 4eye, or use 86 exterior to repair cosmetics to the 92?

Just swap the drivetrain to the 4 eye.

Stangnet has spoken.

Seriously - it would be a lot easier to swap out the drivetrain. Plus 4-eyes are manlier and less common.

86 is pretty clean just needs a new windshield and paint later on.

If it was me i would use whatever car is cleaner. for example, if the 86 had any kind of rust and the 92 didnt, i'd throw the 86 nose on the 92. and vice versa with the drivetrain situation

Whichever will involve less work. If the body on the 92 is trashed, just swap the good body panels from the 86 on there and be done. Or swap the drivetrain to the cleaner 86. Either way...same result.

/86 would be cheaper on insurance?

An aero to 4eye is completely worthless in terms of resale.

Put the drive train into the 86. If it's clean why the hell would you tear body panels off to fix a wrecked car??

As stated in the poll, we're not converting one to the other. Either way the 86 would stay 4 eye and the 92 would stay aero.

How do you figure? If you had a clean 87-93 fox with a 86 nose on it i would bring the same money as if it had an aero nose. 90% of the people dont care what nose is on the car, if the car is solid someone will buy it.

I know alot of people that like the 86 front end alot more than the aero ones(including myself), but dont like the interior/moldings of the 4-eye cars. so its the best of both worlds really

But after seeing pics of both cars, you would be nuts to fix that aero car. Strip it to nothing and get as much money as u can out of it
