AFR heads came in today

UPS just delivered my pair of AFR heads today. They are the 165 58cc SBF heads , a beautiful gleaming hunk of billet aluminium. I just had to say the quality and machine work that went into it. the smoothness of the intake runners and the transition from the runners to the valve stem post was awsome. All the hardware is top notch and no sharp edges anywhere, realy a piece of work, I guess tat why I paid so much money for them .. I cant wait to ge the rest of the parts to finish my project ...oh so many parts so little money to buy them with.
Just my $0.02

are you planning on getting a supercharger or turbo. I think the guys at AFR said Im better off raising my compression for more hp and tq ,I plan on all engine running 9.3-9.5 :1 compression, I think you will stay at 9:1 , right?
your set up sounds good,

That's awesome, I got mine in today too! AFR 165 58cc stud mount w/ upgraded valve springs and seals. They really are top quality and I'm so anxious to get them on the car! Just need a good set of rocker arms...

yeah I know the feeling, the ups guys looked at me strange after my initial reaction when it arrived.maybe petting the box and saying my precious was a little abnormal..lol
Im going to use the PRO-magnum 1.6:1 3/8th stuf comp cam rockers, They arent that much more heavier or expensive than the aluminum rocker arms and I dont get any clearance change at higher rpms. Your going to want to upgrade your push rods and lifters if your using the AFR higher spring rate valves springs, you run the chance of a dead lifter at lower rpms.

LOL, yeah, they're almost too nice to put on a motor! But that'd REALLY be wasting them

Congrats on the Heads!!! I put the same ones on my Stang last Fall, complimented them with new lifters, push rods and some 1.72 RR's. All I can say is "LOVE IT!"
