What head is better? The reason I ask is becouse i own a set of edelbrocks with the 190 valve there off one of my old mustangs i had they were just sitting there pilling up dust so i took them to my local machine shop today for an estimate $800 thats for all new valves & seats springs to match my cam, ported & polish both intake & ehaust chambers , and he said he would check to see if they needed milled all ya allmost fogot there now gonna be o-ringed.Did i make the rite choice or are the AFR heads that much better???

Why do you need new valves? I assume these are the older style edelbrock rpms? 190/160 stud mounts? Dont go to that shop w/o getting another estimate. You dont need 1/2 the stuff your getting. Only thing I would do is a mill and new seals. The afr 165 are way better than the old style edelbrocks. But they can still make good power with the right cam/intake set up.
