A friend bought a 91 LX convertible with 2.3L and Auto trans. He was told engine was shot and tranny was bad.
We did oil change and tune iup and engine runs fine but the tranny is fried. I told him to just drop another auto in it and be done with it but he decided to drop a T5 in. Here's where the problems arrive.
He bought a V8 clutch cable and already had a UPR aluminum clutch quadrant. Of course the V8 clutch cable wont fit the 2.3L bellhousing and the ball.
He says he can only find a Ford replacement clutch cable that has the plastic clutch quadrant which he doesnt like as he said he has had several go bad in the past.
Is there another route or does he have to go with the factory stock clutch cable and plastic quadrant?
Any help will be appreciated and thanks in advance.
