I dropped the tank again today and played with the float a little and checked my connections. I got a reading of a half tank. I bolted everything back and after a couple minutes the gauge went back to being buried on the empty side. Does anybody know exactly how the float is suppose to be situated. The arm comes out the back side and then points towards the drivers side with the float on it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks
After changing my fuel pump my gauge does not work

Did you change the basket aswell or just the pump? I changed my fuel pump and the basket and had false readings so i re-used the basket and just changed the pump,and all was well. As for how the floater fits in... on my 99 gt it faces the driver side and the basket snaps in place.
