After market exhaust

Ok so even my wife says I need something different on the car, it just doesent sound good. I am not interested in the performance, I am satisified with that. If you were to go out today and change the exhaust system on a 2007 GT expressley for the sound, what would you buy? What ever is decided will be bought this week, and installed as soon as it gets here.

I personally am planning on going with Pypes O/R H-pipe. The sound on Brenspeed is pretty good and for $170 you get a little meaner sound (not as loud as some axle backs). I don't want it to loud myself, and you get the 8-10 extra hp as well.

Although you do have to contend with the cats being gone and whether to get a tune or getting the eliminators which is another $60.

I plan to get the tune, H-Pipe and a CAI all at the same time if Santa is good to me. Oh wait I am Santa so maybe he will be good. I think I have been a good boy. :D

Gotta say, I went with the Corsa and was happy for a short while but I'm afraid they're just too inconspicuous and not deep enough or loud enough. So I had a set made up although the sound quality on Photobucket isn't too good

Sorry you didn't like the Corsa setup, I think you're the first person I've seen that changed them out. No, they aren't the loudest, but to me-at WOT they rock. I like the fact that at cruise they are quiet as stock with zero drone. I guess everybody doesn't have the same taste. I'm glad you like your new setup. The only one your system has to please is you.

I saw a SN95 GT just yesterday that was loud as hell as it was coming towards me...I have no idea what his exhaust setup was, but after he passed me I heard him shift and as he did..."POW"...BIG time backfire...that alone was a total turn off on to whatever he was running!!!!! Now would uncapped dumps make it do that?

The problem is that with the 462hp supercharger, you rarely get the chance to reach WOT which is where the noise arrives - except by that time, you're going so fast, the noise is left behind you. The system I had made up is literally a couple of straight-through mufflers. The funny thing is that while it gives you that great V8 throb low down and a loud burble on the over-run, it doesn't drone at high speed either so you have to ask yourself how difficult can it be to engineer out the drone?

The Corsas won't be wasted, I can use them as weights at the gym. LOL. The guy who fitted my new mufflers couldn't believe how heavy they were. The Corsa muffler is 10.5" long and 7" in diameter and weighs 20 lb a side. My new mufflers are 9" x 5" and are a lot lighter than stock (which weigh in at 15/16lb a side). Now I get my cake and eat it.

Here are the stock vs Corsa vs custom mufflers photos:

Just to let everyone know, I liked everything I have heard. I was like a kid in a candy store, but I decided to go with what I know. I ordered the Flowmaster package for my car. They gave me a two week delivery, and something really un-expected. Flowmaster says I will get an HP increase by changing to their exhaust package, is this correct?

borla is good sounding, but i have noticed it gives resonation inside the car a lot. ive heard most exhausts on the new mustang, my personal favorite is bassani, its the most expensive, but its well worth it

SLP. I know a lot of people on here don't care for it but those people most likely only heard the LM1s which are too tinny and loud. I would suggest The loudmouth2 or The power flos by SLP. I have full SLP exhaust and clips on youtube and i love my cars sound. If you want a clip just email me at
