aftermarket gaues

So im installing some aftermarket gauges into a buddies fox body and I can do it on my 02 but ive never done a fox and am looking for some quick help.

Im doing an Air/fuel, Tach, Water temp.


I need to know where all these wire to. I have a sensor and everything for water temp where do i drill and tap to screw in whats a good place?

As far as tach where can i pull a good tach signal?

air/fuel- where can i pull that signal. Narrow band for now, until he purshcases a wide band.

As far as power and all that I can find places for that.Dimmer ill find and ground ill find.

you can use the 3/8 NPT port on the lower intake for the water temp gauge, unless you want to keep the stock gauge working, then you have to go to the back of the intake, there is an un-used hole on the drivers side IIRC.

and IIRC the yellow coil wire is going to be the tach signal.

and honestly dont mess with the cheesy air-fuel gauges. the narrow band gauges are completely useless IMO and dont tell you anything. get the wideband

As noted, you can use the rear port on the lower intake for the water temp. I would move the stock sender back there and put the aftermarket gauge's sender in the stock location.
You can also buy a t-stat housing with a 3/8" boss tapped into it (10 bucks at parts stores). Put the stock sender in the housing and the new sender in the stock sender's old location.


For the tach, you can connect it to the negative side of the ignition coil.

You'll find which wires are the HEGO signal wires in a search.

Fuse 13 is dimmed.

Thanks for the help guys. I know Narrow bands are useless. They are actually my old gauges outta my 02, and he bought them. Its my cousins company, they are 2 1/16 and he bought them.

So yea he is getting a wideband. The air/fuel can do both, with a push of a button, so we wanna wire it up for a narrowband right now and will get a wide band later.
