Aftermarket head units and the Shaker 1000

I tried a search and haven't really come up with anything. Has anyone replaced their Shaker 1000 head unit with an aftermarket deck? Were there any issues with the amps and subs in the trunk? I'm going to be dropping a Pioneer AVIC N-2 in the car in a couple weeks and was curious if there are going to be problems. Thanks..

you will lose the pair of 8's in the doors and the subs in the rear. You CAN use the preouts on the N-2 and splice in rca connections on the factory amps at the signal wires and this will get them to function again. I would recommend the N-1 over the N-2 though if you will be using the front screen for dvd's since you cannot bypass the unit to allow them to play while you are driving. I myself had the shaker 500 and am still using the factory system with the addition of the panasonic vcqd7001 flipout and its working alright until all my Kicker pieces get here. hope that helps

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna have a professional installer hook it up. I ordered the N-2 already but I'm not to concerned about wathing DVD'd while I drive. I opted for the N-2 cause it came with a free SIRIUS tuner and antenna. I was worried about losing the subs but it sounds like a pretty easy fix. Now all I need to do is find a European map DVD that is region one.
