My husband and I just installed a RK Sport fiberglass ram air hood on our 2k5 GT. The body shop guy adjusted it to fit perfectly, but it seems to vibrate when the car reaches 70mph. We put weather stripping to buffer the hood where the stock hood had it, but it doesn't seem to help at higher speeds. Now we're thinking about hood pins. Does anyone have any ideas??? Anyone know where we can get some good (and good looking) hood pins??

buz, I have the same hood. I purchased the Ford Racing hood pins and they are being installed. I have also bought the Redline Tuning QuickLift. Once i get the car out of the paint shop, I will let you know.

Cool guys, thanks!

Bryan--how much did it cost to have a shop do the installation? We had no problems installing the hood (just minor adjustments) but I'm not to sure about drilling through the new fiberglass hood.

I did the allignment and drilling in the frame and left he hood up to them. They did about 3 hours of work to get the correct alignment for me. Now, this same shop how is doing this also did all of my painting and wet sanding. The painter, who is doing the hood pins, is very slow and very particular - to the point of being over priced. So, i would assume that anyone else would have been a 2 hour jober for the hood AND the ping alignment in the frame

Unfortunately, the stock hood does the same thing on many GTs, including mine.

After market hood vibrations

Has anyone found a solution to the vibration issue yet?
Do the hood pins fix this problem?

The problem is the hood catches too much air through the grill openings.
It needs to be vented with louvers or something. I definately wont put a glass hood on mine without hood pins.
I have been researching hood twist lock pins like on 70-71 Mustangs.

I had the same issue and I think I saw it somewhere else here too, on the stock hoods.

CCW rotation on the rubber bumpers on the front like 2 turns should help, but cannot comment on the aftermarket hood.

I would like to see some pics BTW!!!
