Aftermarket oil pan question?

I just bought a moroso 7 qt pan. Got a couple of questions.. First how do you determine where full is? It says you have to cut the tube to get the full mark right. Second it has a bung welded on for its own dipstick. Which one do I use?? I have a real nice motorsport one that I would like to keep. so can you just plug the pan hole? Otherwise how do you plug the original hole in the timing cover?? Thanks for any info!!

I would use the one on the timing cover and plug the other one that way it is out of the way of exhaust parts. Your NAPA parts guy supplies little tiny plugs (I think 3/8")that would plug the timing hole if you go that route. (They look like little tiny freeze plugs and are installed the same way.) The same plug would plug the dipstick hole on the side of the engine block if you have one there as well.

Use the stock dipstick. It needs no modification. The extra capacity of the pan is added to the bottom, the stock marks are still correct.

It is strange to me that the pan has a place for a stick. The only Moroso pans that I know of that have this is the dual sump type.
To be fair though, I have only had Moroso pans for SBFs and Clevelands... never Windsor, so I might be wrong.

I missed the part where you say there are instructions to cut the dipstick tube... That is wierd...
Are you sure you got the correct pan?
That is the second thing that doesn't add up.

Use the stock stick and the stock tube. Here's a pic of my 8 qt Milodon pan on the Windsor.

thanks guys I think I'll use the stock dipstick. I'm sure this is the right pan.

The 20507. Front sump windsor. Yea it has a bung welded on the top and comes with a dipstick that you are supposed to cut to length. I think it is a new pan from them. Wow edbert that looks aweful nice!! Do you have a full pic of the motor?? Also is that a rack and pinion steering under there?? Again thanks for the info guys!!

Okay... new Moroso part.

I was thinking about my 8 qt 302 and 9 qt 351c pans... I haven't seen yours till now.

I like the kickout to the side to maintain ground clearance. How are the rails; are they thicker than stock?
